Ø  An adjective is a word that describes the meaning of a noun or pronoun.

Ex. (1) She is a pretty girl.
       (2) Raju is a good boy.

There are five kinds of the adjective:-

1.       Adjective of quality:-

It shows the kind or quality of a person or a thing.
Ex. 1) He is an honest man.
       2) Mumbai is a large city.
       3) The foolish old crow tried to sing.
(Adjective of quality will answer the question:- What kind of?)
2.       Adjective of quantity:-
It shows how much of a thing is meant.
Ex. 1) He has lost all his wealth.
      2) He showed much patience.
      3) I ate some ice cream.
(Adjective of quantity will answer the question:- How much?)
3.       Adjective of Number:-
It shows how many person or things are meant or in what order a person or thing stands.
Ex. 1) A hand has five fingers.
      2) Most boys like cricket.
      3) There are no pictures in the book.
      4) Here are some ripe mangoes.
(Adjective of the number will answer the question:- How many?)
4.       Demonstrative Adjective:-
Demonstrative adjective point out which person or thing is meant.
Ex. 1) This boy is stronger than john.
      2) Don’t be in such a hurry.
      3) I hate such things.
(Demonstrative adjective will answer the question:- which?)
5.       Interrogative Adjective:-
Words like What, Which and Whose when used with nouns to ask questions are called interrogative adjectives.

      2) What color is this?
      3) Whose book is this?
(What is used in a general sense, and which is a selective sense.)
